Description

Ever heard of all the EO “DNA” talk?

Well…… that DNA was Siberian musk, my friends. Lots and lots of Siberian musk.

Siberian musk pods became the cornerstone of my perfumery. I have Siberia to thank for inspiring what has become flagship fragrances dearer to me than even some of my oud – like No 2, Private Blend, Crime & Punishment, and Tigerlust. (From these, none of the Siberian editions remain.)

It’s not something you can forget… the almost unbearably potent aroma of fresh musk sacks flown in the previous day direct from Russia, scraped clean… and how that smell filled the atelier as we prepped them for tincturing and the rarest of santal infusions… and the nosebleeds that followed when it came to incorporating those magical grains into EO compositions.

Siber Extreme goes out to everyone who missed out on the Siber OGs and wants to get their nose on a perfume with a wild roar.

To make it, we used two in-house orange flower fusions (due to the high cost, very few perfumers use orange blossom, and these batches feature both CO2 extracts and absolutes) that ooze out orange blossom’s rich white flower fragrance tinged with a spatter of red mandarin married to the rich red of jasmine, the sweetness of neroli, and a touch of apricot with a splash of rose to work its diffusive magic.

We have little of our signature vintage Timor sandalwood oil ago left, and I’ve stopped using it for a while now – that’s in here, too and lends its spicy smooth tone to the fusion of pepper and frangipani.

What you’ve got here is a perfume that doesn’t hold back – not when it comes to precious ingredients or the raw potent power of Siberian musk’s full force, tamed only by the beauty of the cast of spices, peppers and precious flowers that force carries – fighting it out with a heavy lacquer of wild Pursat and Kog Kong harvests.

…… a spritz that’s jacked up with unhealthy shots of steroids to blast you with an extreme dose of Siber musk upon musk upon oud upon spiced-up white orange blossoms, all riding a heavy tincture of – musk!

Featured Testimonials…

The DNA is not very different from the OG it just feels a bit more extreme in the opening. It’ll hit you right in the face with an extreme blast of pepper, cumin, musk and neroli with a nice oud note. Once it starts drying down it’ll give you the OG smell of siber extreme.
I’m not lying when I say that I’ve been quite shocked by the cumin punch in the opening but once it starts settling down it’s absolutely good.
Performance is also very good 👍🏻 two sprays are projecting for solid 8 hours now and if I wouldn’t go to the shower it would probably continue to project for the rest of the night.
Long story short, if you can handle the spicy opening you’ll really like this scent!
I just wish there would have been a piece of musk in it like it was in the OG…
Oh, and I have to say that the new presentation with the resin caps looks very good! I hope that we will get caps with the colour matching the plaques for all the upcoming releases 😌
UPDATE:
I have to admit that this was a tough one for me. It was a real love hate affair in the beginning because of that absurdly strong cumin note but now I’m really digging it.
The overwhelming cumin note in the opening has settled down and the perfume feels way more friendly now. Florals and oud with a deep and rich musky note & no sharp edges.
Overall, it’s now a better version of the OG in my opinion. What have we learned? Don’t give a bottle away if you don’t like it at the first smell, spray it a few times & give it some time to macerate and evolve. In 9 out of 10 cases you’ll end up loving it 😏

Siber Extreme by Ensar Oud – Spice Up

White is often associated with peace, but Siber Extreme is anything but serene. Ensar Oud should’ve wrapped this one in dark red packaging to warn people about the impending intensity. The fragrance kicks off with a scorching pepper and cumin punch that’s almost culinary – it’s a wild ride that might unsettle some, but stick with it and you’ll be rewarded with beautiful neroli and Oud.

The floral notes are there, but they’re subtle, taking a backseat to the bold, attention-grabbing ingredients. In the drydown, the musk and sandalwood blend takes center stage, creating an intoxicatingly musky scent that’s simply gorgeous.

Meanwhile, the cumin lingers in the background, adding depth. This fragrance is untamed, but in a good way. It lasts a solid 8 hours, so if you’re not averse to spicy scents, give it a try.

Reviews of the Previous Edition…

Siber Extreme: Anybody catch the license plate of that deer that just hit me? Wearing it right now. Absolutely love this one.

5-Month Update: It certainly *is* very adaptable to different temps and definitely picking up more of the fresh notes here in the warm weather (mandarin, orange blossom/neroli) wheras in the cold, I would get more of the black tea and darker spices (cumin/pepper/cinnamon)

Siber Extreme is out of this world! As soon as I received my 30ml bottle, I knew right away that I’d better get another bottle before it was gone!

Animalic, cheesy, & floral! A wild beast that’s slowly tamed as you wear.

It and EO No. 3 make up beauty and beast.

A proper dose of spices paired with beautiful Siberian musk and forestry green notes. I think it’s over one year now and the fat slice of musk that’s floating in the bottle, seemed to do its magic.
The muskiness has increased even more and the powdery/spicy notes are shining out even more.
Super masculine scent and perfect for the colder days 😎
UPDATE:
Cold and rainy days over here in Munich, so I’ve decided to take siber extreme out of the vault and apply a couple sprays.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve sprayed Siber Extreme, it feels like it got even more extreme than it already was.
The musk is stronger and adds a nice powdery touch of animalic notes to the spicy and herbal-green aspects have improved as well.
Imagine walking through a snowy forest full of musk deers, citrusy neroli wafts paired with cumin and orange flowers in the cold air sorround you.
Musk, musk, musk and even more musk, beautiful sandalwood, tea and pepper add the final touch to this epic creation. The fat slice of the siberian musk pod seems to add even more depth to the composition.
I hope that we will see something like this in the future again. A perfume focused to show us the raw power of one of the worlds best aromatics.
UPDATE:
The scent of the day/night for me is a classic that we all love and appreciate.
Citrusy notes paired with spices and a hefty dose of Siberian musk. This perfume is a relic of my early EO days and I wish I would have bought two bottles of it.
Siber extreme is one of those perfumes that represents the art of musk perfumes the EO way for me.

I don’t know how you guys do it! Pure genius. This is such an unbelievable spray! So good!! Top 5 ever no question!

Honestly… this Thing is another absolute GEM to me. It is literally the muskiest Scent I have ever come across! At least to ME, even more so than Tibetan Musk, EO2 and EO2 Kashmir and as equally as musky as Private Blend. I’m not saying they smell the same but the amount of musk used, can’t be too far away from each other.

The opening already gives you a hint of what awaits you. MUSK, MUSK, MUSK. A slight and very soft Citrus at the Top is the only thing, taming down the initial Blast.

The citrus gets replaced by some smooth florals, pepper and Black Tea very quick. You also get the cumin but to me it’s not as strong as in EO2 Kashmir which I also love and where I find it to be very prominent in the Opening.

You really feel, that all other notes are just included to support the Musk in Its own structure and DNA.

All in all I would say Siber Extreme is 80% Siberian Musk, 10% Florals and Spices, 5% Sandalwood and 5% Oud, which is creating a soft, slightly creamy Backbone to the composition.

Projection and longevity are really great and comparable to Tibetan Musk.

To be completely honest, in comparison to Tonkin Musk, which is absolutely Unisex, Siber Extreme appears rather masculine to me. Even though it’s amazingly blended and smooth, it has this roughness and as EO called it: „WILD ROAR“, which makes it a one of Kind Musk-Monster to me.

Full review will follow as soon as I gave it a few more wearings but for now. I absolutely love it and I am seriously considering to get a Back-Up. If I could afford to wear it every day, THIS would be my signature.

Thanks to the whole EO Team again for creating this beautiful BEAST..

When I first tried it, the cumin was overpowering (to me) and I was like, NOPE this is not for me! (I despise cumin in food AND in perfume). But fast forward to now, and – like you said – that note has receded into the background and the mandarin, orange blossom, neroli and (for me) black tea have pushed their way forward, making this composition very enjoyable indeed. On top of that, it really agrees with my skin chemistry (like a lot of perfumes do not), and smells even better on my skin than it does sniffing the nozzle or spraying on clothes.

If you’re familiar with the Tibetan Musk, then Siber Extreme would feel like home to you. It is in the same caliber as the Tibetan Musk, doesn’t quite has that spicy and peppery bite but it is heavier and muskier. Obviously, this one has the unmistakable Siberian signature and characteristic… a hint of uranious in the beginning, though it isn’t offensive at all, a bit more animalic than other varieties.

Siber Extreme has the citrusy orange peel in the opening, it isn’t as sour and citrusy as Chypre Narcotique, I would say the sourness strength is a bit less but somewhat similar to that of Taifi Rose from EO3. Did I mention this is VERY musky?!? A real heavyweight animalic musk bomb. I’m also perceiving a hint of Tonkin-type earthiness in this, a similar throat-feel as the NFU.

There’s a slight hint of dark fruits undertone behind the musk, and also a bit of that southerner sweet black tea. The Cambodian Oud blended in seamlessly, as a matter of fact…Oud doesn’t really stand out front and center here, but neither did Tibetan Musk, Musk Yusuf and EO2!

This is all about the Musk, Musk, and more Musk. The Jasmine and Frangipani provided a good lift and supporting role to the Siberian musk, overall the floral in this composition isn’t very forward or overpowering, floral strength is in the same ballpark as the Tibetan Musk and EO2.

This isn’t as fruity as Musk Yusuf and Oud Yusuf either. It settled down after an hour or so, and more well behave in the mid drydown when the sandalwood comes forth, but still has plenty of meaty musk left. In comparison to the EO2 (OG, 2.0, and Kashmir), the Siber Extreme has fewer spices, it’s earthier, a little bit sweeter, meatier, darker, and more animalic. Even though it shares the same Siberian DNA with many previous first-generation releases, I really don’t see any redundancy in having this one in my collection.

It’s muskier and more animalic than Tibetan Musk, not as fruity as Musk Yusuf, and not as spicey as EO2, this is pure animalistic musk bliss. Performance is very good, similar to Tibetan Musk. If you’re a huge fan of Musk, this is a MUST. All musk lovers rejoice! 🥳 Thank you Ensar Oud for keeping the Old School Siberian alive, this beast is a gem. 🥰

5-Month Update: One of the best, bar none. Wore it to work yesterday, had a different kind of wonderful experience in Spring than in Winter. It’s right up there next to Tibetan Musk and the like. A bit of that fresh and powderiness in the dry down … was lovely. It’s more pronounced in warmer weather than I remembered it in cooler winter.
