Santal Royale: Royal Kynam

What if you could take a perfume about which fraglovers have this to say:

“I’m a fan of sandalwood and this is undoubtedly the greatest Sandalwood fragrance ever created!!”

“I’m starting to think Santal Sultan PP is the best sandalwood based perfume I’ve ever smelled at any price point. And I’ve tried many.”

“You’ll never be able to go back to fleeting synthetic “niche” sandalwood.”

…What if you could take that perfume, and make it Royale?

That was the challenge I set myself when taking on the task of composing this perfume. To take its predecessor, Santal Sultan, “by far one of the most elegant scent profiles I’ve ever smelled”, a notch higher. 

Ambitious? Definitely.

The sandalwood oil this perfume was composed around, Santal Royale, was distilled eleven years ago in the same style as the legendaryRoyal Kynam. In fact, they were distilled IN THE SAME POTS!

In other words, it’s a sandalwood oil that was distilled the way we distill our oud – Oriscent ouds. That’s why you’d be hard-pressed to find a sandalwood oil that’s as musky and has such a deep red aroma as the one that forms the backbone of this perfume.

This one-of-a-kind edition showcases Santal Royale perfume rendition with the mind-numbing, crystalline shot of Royal Kynam that gives the red, creamy sandalwood tone an “insanely satisfying sweeeeeeeet sinesis heart” to impart a not-so-subtle echo of Vietnamese kinam. (This limited bespoke edition includes a full 3 gram dose of Royal Kynam.)

To kinami-fy the sandalicious fragrance even more, your bottle contains a few granules of proper White Kinam wood (worth $2,000/gr) along with a few vintage Mysore sandalwood granules from the 1980s. On the rare chance you’ve tried to tincture kyara, you’d know how even a little is enough to coax that piercing magic from the granules. Likewise, raw sandalwood granules add the spicy-red calming aroma that makes vintage Mysore the most sought-after sandalwood in the world.
