Certain aromatics are so rare they never make it to the market. Oud is an obvious example, but certain rarities are already bought and booked in advance. A reputable distiller’s yearly yield may already be reserved before he’s even prepared for harvest.
Aromatics like our frangipani and blue lotus are examples of batches that are so good the limited yield gets scooped up in advance. The same is true for the best Ta’ifi harvests and select ottos from around the world.
Quality rose is a cornerstone in EO perfumery, so we must ensure consistency with the roses in our atelier. By this, I don’t just mean the quality (which must be impeccable), but the profile as well.
That’s why many people asked where our Georgian rose is for the RoseFest…
We haven’t sold any because it was reserved for EO Perfumes. However, the point of our “Atelier” products are to give you firsthand experience of the actual ingredients that go into our perfumes, so we’ve apportioned a limited amount of this exquisite rose to be sold neat.
You may have heard how it takes about two tons of rose petals to produce one liter of rose oil. To produce quality rose otto like this, however, requires closer to three and a half tons of petals! The only extract that compares is blue lotus, which is a heavier flower to begin with, so in terms of volume you require more roses…
The opening is stunningly fresh, which immediately hints at the timing of the harvest and the quality of extraction. The scent is bright and graceful, and wonderfully diffusive – one of the main reasons it’s become the rose-highlight in recent EO Perfumes.
If all you’re familiar with are rose absolutes or the Bulgarian varieties, this fine Georgian Otto is a must. If you just love rose in any shape or form, then you’ll wear this blissfully.
