EO 1: Crystal Kinam – Running Low

EO1 was already among the most serious leather-oud perfumes ever…

This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Description

The perfume opens in a dark glow: tobacco leaf, worn saddle leather, rare roses, and true ambergris breathing through wild sinensis.

Crystal Kinam deepens the leather until it turns almost creamy. The tobacco thickens into an ambered sweetness instead of staying dry. The roses—already exquisite—sink into the oud’s body and reveal their full character: petals drenched in liquid, crystallized sinensis agarwood.

Lean in and the layers unfold: amber, musk, incense, citrus peel, dried hay, tobacco smoke, and a quiet animalic hum—each moving through a kinamic sinensis strain of unusual refinement. There’s a pheromonal warmth to it, a musky ambered pull without the coarse edges that flatten lesser ouds. Sinensis of this caliber pushes the profile into territory that very few perfumes ever reach: tobacco-laced orange peel, resin-soaked myrrh, frankincense, and that somber Chinese “zing” collectors spend years chasing.

Threaded through everything is the old-school Hainan signature: powdery citrus, soft vanilla, and the clean brightness of freshly cut sinensis—lifting what was already one of the most commanding leather-oud compositions in the catalogue into genuinely new terrain.

There’s a moment when a blade cuts into resin-saturated agarwood and the wood releases everything it has spent decades building: hardened resin, mineral memory, the slow biological alchemy that makes a single piece worth more than gold.

The oud itself—cracked open at the instant it has no more secrets.

Powdery orange zest and dry hay give way to vanilla warmth and the mellow medicinal edge unique to kinamic oils. Beneath that: maple sweetness, a whisper of white chocolate, and the dry brightness of freshly milled sinensis.

In the agarwood world, wild Hainan sinensis stands alone. Genuine island harvests produce a profile closer to kinam than even the finest Vietnamese or Cambodian oils—and once you’ve encountered it, nothing else reads the same way again.

That unmistakable profile comes from the oud at the heart of this composition: Crystal Kinam.

This edition embeds Crystal Kinam directly into the core of EO1—bringing the total concentration to roughly 40%. The effect is immediate. You can feel the zap.

The roses demand their own spotlight. Vintage Ta’ifi appears alongside a rare Afghan extract—juicier, more faceted, forming a fused profile that plays naturally against tobacco and leather without sweetening either. These aren’t supporting notes. They’re structural pillars of the composition, and at this concentration and quality they have never appeared together before.

The entire perfume is infused into vintage ambergris sourced from the late Sultan Qaboos’ private stones—the same material used in Oud Royale. Ambergris of this provenance doesn’t behave like a note. It creates an atmosphere: a mineral halo that slows diffusion, a carnal elegance that makes the whole structure hum from within.

To complete the piece, each bottle is dressed by the late leather maestro Habib Dingle (may he rest in peace), in full-grain Italian calf hide, crafted entirely by hand.

Reviews of Previous Editions…

Wearing No. 1 feels like slipping into an antique leather armchair in a library filled with ancient tomes and flickering candlelight . A glass of vintage cognac, a hand-rolled cigar, the echo of oud music in the background.

If you ever dreamed of how oud, rose, and leather could be perfected into an olfactory masterpiece — this is it.

It’s timeless power, elegance with a shadowy edge.

A fragrance for those who move through the world with quiet authority and an appreciation for the ancient, rare, and impossibly beautiful.

No.1 is like a balm for rose-oud lovers.

The scent gives me strong notes of lavender, oud, and Taif rose, it never fails to make me smile. On a beautiful Friday like this, it’s simply the perfect fragrance for Jumu’ah.

I truly hope the team at Ensar will return to their signature style. Everyone loves the leather flacons, there’s nothing more elegant and fitting than seeing such a beautiful creation housed in one of those.

ALL TIME LEGEND: EO NO1
Among the many iterations of the NO1 series, Assam and EO1 have firmly secured their places as my absolute favorites. While each variant has its unique appeal, there’s something undeniably captivating about EO1 that sets it apart.

From the first spray, No1 envelops you in an intense and animalic aura.

The opening is unapologetically bold, with a striking blend of civet and castoreum that immediately grabs your attention. This raw animalic power is balanced by a dark, woody core, accented by the warmth of nutmeg and allspice, which adds a subtle yet intriguing spiciness.

There’s also a fleeting cola-like nuance, which, though subtle, adds an unexpected twist to the composition.

As the fragrance develops, the heart reveals a lush bouquet of rose petals, intertwined with the resinous richness of tolu balsam.

This floral-resinous combination is both opulent and enveloping, providing a perfect counterpoint to the assertive opening.

The dry-down is where EO1 truly shines, with its deep, rich oud, layered with balsamic sandalwood, smoky leather, and earthy tobacco. A sweet touch of bourbon vanilla and ambergris lingers in the background, adding a soft, sensual warmth that balances the darker, more intense notes.

EO1’s longevity is remarkable, easily lasting over 12 hours, with a sillage that commands attention without being overwhelming. It’s a fragrance that evolves beautifully over time, revealing new facets with each wear.

The king is back…. after swapping out EO1 Siem Reap, EO1 is always on my radar but then option for a smaller size wasn’t available.

Hehe this Cyber deal changed everything and finally wearing 2 full sprays of this magnificent EO1 signature leather oud beauty to work…

EO1 and SR does not really different much, EO1 retain the cooling aspect but less cooler compare to SR but i can notice leather, oud, tobacco all have been dial up few notches and still retain the scent n structure of EO1.
Myitkyina and assam fortified the leather ness of EO1 which make it heavier and stronger than SR.

Nothing animalic or skanky as usual… you will never go wrong with any iterations of EO1 once u fell in love with one.

Ensar Oud the new black plaque is nice, love the smooth reflective surface… and 15ml is a must staple for every scent so that we can continue to enjoy ensar oud with lesser guilt haha

Wearing EO1 feels like stepping into a world of refined elegance and rugged charm. It wraps you in a leathery warmth with hints of sweetness and spice that evoke the image of vintage luxury—an aged leather jacket, a lit cigar, and the quiet confidence of old-world sophistication.

The fragrance transitions beautifully, balancing boldness with subtlety, leaving an unforgettable impression of depth and timeless allure. Perfect for those who appreciate artisanal craftsmanship and a touch of regal charisma.

EO1 represents a refined iteration of the original, boasting a fresh green and earthy essence that transitions seamlessly into a woody and leathery finish.

UPDATE:

This perfume is an olfactory journey that unfolds with a symphony of lavender and rosewood, leading into the rich embrace of Myitkyina Oud. The heart reveals the opulence of Ta’ifi Rose, Bulgarian Rose, and Juhi Jasmine, creating a floral tapestry. The fragrance reaches its crescendo with a base of Assam Oud, intertwined with notes of tobacco, vanilla, and oakmoss, resulting in a sophisticated and captivating blend that leaves a lasting impression of timeless elegance and allure.

If you imagine how oud, rose and leather could possibly smell together in the highest form of olfactory enjoyment, you will end up with Ensars first spray parfum. I don’t know how many perfumes I have smelled trying to find the best combination between those notes, but I always ended up lingering for something better. There was always something missing, something that only the best pure natural ingredients can accomplish. After finding out about EO I finally can say that I found the highest and best. This EO1 edition is something everyone should have in their collection if you truly love oud and rose. From beginning till the end, you will experience a never-ending unfolding story of true craftsmanship and the dry down is to die for! Thank you, brother Ensar.

For the last day of February, I wanted to go with something special for a leap day. One of my all time favourite fragrances, the leather case version feels especially luxurious. This version feels closest to the OG, deep oudy goodness with a stunning rose note.

—Nathan O / Singapore

EO N°1 is my favorite of the series. It’s more refined and the taifi rose is more prominent too. Also the assam oud shows a better contrast to the crimson red taifi. The leathery aspect is composed around burmese oud, tabac and incense; present but not overwhelming. What makes it even better is the wonderful start with lavender, castoreum and ambergris and all 3 reach till the base boosting the woody animalic part.

—Oud D

…I do love it! I took some time and I can’t say why but geeeeeez. I had it for about 2 months and I just let it sit after trying it and finding it wasn’t what I was expecting. Last night I decided to throw one spray on and boooooooooom. That leather and oud was hitting!!! I was like “yeaaaa now that’s more like it” about 30mins pass and it calmed down and the softer sweeter florals start showing off and I said “oh yeaaaaa now this…yeaaaaaaa”…

Couple days ago I’ve mentioned that EO1 is my favorite from the EO1 series. So why is it my favorite ? First of all this version of EO1 feels like it’s the most polished and refined version of all the EO1s that I’ve tried.

The opening is such a blast, the interplay of the lavender together with the rose and ambergris is absolutely beautiful. It’s such a unique smell, kinda green and somehow a bit sour. I’d love to have a perfume that’s just smelling like the opening of EO1. Every time when I spray it, I get flashbacks of my first time smelling an EO perfume.

The leather-tobacco smell in the EO1 acts perfectly with the Anthill Assam oud and gives you that classic leatherjacket vibe ala EO in the most luxurious way possible. The quality of the new oud that has been used is very noticeable, it’s not as edgy as the one in the assam version, still animalic and very leathery (which is absolutely perfect in combination with the other notes) but you can smell that it’s aged and more balanced.

I’d also like to take a moment and appreciate the beautiful leather work by the recently passed leather master Habib Dingle, may he rest in peace

UPDATE:

Scent of the night EO1. In my opinion the best version of EO1. The interplay between the rose oud, the lavender, ambergris and musk gives me the most perfect opening from the entire EO line up. The leathery notes and the Assam oud couldn’t be more perfect and the whole composition feels like it couldn’t get any better.

The only thing that might top this perfume is the oud Royale (OG).
This is the kind of perfumes that we need more of in the future, the definition of an artisanal indie cuir , a bold and rich masculine and leathery rose oud perfume that’s unmatched in its quality

One word, STUNNED!

EO1 VS EO1 OG

Long review warning

EO1 is and will always be my personal favorite from Ensar Oud. I admit I haven’t tried a whole lot from Ensars work; but the ones I own are amazing in their own standing. Note: this is my first Ensar with JA or oud in it, and I haven’t tried any other EO1 releases.

Synopsis: EO1 is a much more polished version of the EO1 OG pure Parfum. There are noticeable differences, yet EO1 converges to the same EO1 DNA that we all know and love.
It almost feels like the OG morphed into a more complex and multi-dimensional release.

Side-by-Side Comparison: the opening of EO1 is noticeably different.

Conclusion:
If you are a collector, this definitely deserves a place in your collection.

Bold, powerful and enjoyable

—Thomas W / Germany

I just got my order today !I am an oud and musk lover and especially artisanal perfumes.

I came across Ensar Oud through YouTube as well through Instagram. This is my first fragrance from EO collection and it will not be the last one.

I ordered EO 1, the scent is out of this world really amazing it is definitely high quality !

I received also some samples and there is 1 particular which catches my nose and that’s Homeros really classy scent.

—Hassan / Belgium

I want to thank you for your exceptional customer service. I am in love with EO1 and the samples are AMAZING! I can’t wait to try more from Ensar. I sprayed myself before work and I drove all the way home on break just to spray myself again – and I cannot stop smelling myself. I couldn’t be more satisfied, the scent is exactly as described but even better, so smooth and rich with just the right touch of spice. This oud and this ambergris are pure splendor. I hope to get a review of this up on YouTube within the next couple weeks. I have nothing but praise, this is simply perfection.

—SKW C / USA

I’ve tried every single version of EO1 and even if they’re all good, none of them felt as perfect as EO1.

The opening blast of roses, lavender and ambergris followed by a heavy dose of Indian oud is always bringing back a special memory – the day when I’ve smelled my first eo perfume the N1 Assam. EO1 took everything that I loved about this smell and has been turned into something even better.

This is the kind of perfumes that we need more of in the future, the definition of an artisanal indie cuir , a bold and rich masculine and leathery rose oud perfume that’s unmatched in its quality.

(Sidefact: EO1 was the perfume that got me hooked to artisanal perfumes)

—Chris A / Germany

After the OG and Manipur, EO1 can have a place in collection as one of leather rose tobacco ambergris oud scents. This one is different than previous iteration. Feel like more rich resinous oud with leathery spice but not so much on the rose.
