What may seem like a luxury to a novice soon becomes indispensable to the serious perfumer. As an ingredient, Turkish rose is a staple of mine and a key note in the likes of EO 1.
Fine Turkish rose is harvested only once a year, and most of the harvesting happens in “The City of Roses” – Isparta.
This rose’s deep red color and velvety texture on the skin—the reddish veneer that lingers after a swipe—stands in contrast to the super thin, water-like liquidity, light pink colored bottles of rose most people are familiar with.
Rich and exceptionally deep-red, this Turkish rose absolute is elegantly diffusive with a subtle honey sweetness penetrating the red petal aroma, with this vintage vibe that imbues the fragrance with an intrinsic old-world feel that’s so different from what you smell in the much diluted, mass-market rose substitutes.
Turkish Rosa Damascena is molecularly dense (made up of 350+ elements) and is a genetic hybrid (some include Fedtschenkoana to the Gallica and Moschata duo), which makes it a versatile, nuanced ingredient and soulful perfume on its own.
A drop to your bath, into your favorite moisturizer or cream does wonders. Or—if you’re like most folks reading this…… all you care about is the smell. A dab on your neck, behind your ears, on a scarf or shirt collar, lets its heady deep red aroma project and beautify the air around you.

The Turkish Rose Attar is a celebration of timeless beauty, capturing the essence of a freshly harvested Rosa Damascena from Isparta, the famed “City of Roses.”

Its opening greets you with a delicate green crispness, reminiscent of freshly plucked petals, evoking the vibrant aroma of roses
As the scent settles, the creamy heart of the rose blooms, enveloping the senses with a velvety smoothness. This creaminess intertwines seamlessly with the signature smokiness of Turkish rose, creating a multi-dimensional profile that dances between fresh, creamy, and smoky facets. The honeyed sweetness that underpins the fragrance adds a luxurious depth, giving the scent a warm, diffusive glow.
Perfect for layering, with other Rose perfumes from EO, or wearing solo, Turkish Rose Attar is more than an Rose Oil—it’s an olfactory journey through fields of roses kissed by the Anatolian sun.
So simple but so beautiful

A must-have for rose lovers and connoisseurs of artisanal perfumery alike.

rather ‘jammy’ opening; has a thick/congealed (despite not being waxy/solidified), honey-sweet connotation to it; the type of rose you’d want to eat.
reveals an edge after about 5-10min, or so; predominantly fresh-cut/green, but also sharp/spicy, mineral, and slightly citric tones begin to radiate through that dissipating coating of jam; has a piercing quality to it, but not overly so (to the point of onset nasal fatigue).
the smooth/creamy floral heart of this is the best part, for me; the residual honied facets never fully fade, coupling with a touch of powder/cosmetics to give it a slightly vintage feel; soft && sweet. the greener tones also soften, and become increasingly dewy && photorealistic; evokes stopping && smelling bushes on a cool morning. ^.^
this one’s really good value; should have snagged a tola for carefree swipin’.

It starts of with an almost green note. Like freshly plucked fragrant rose petals which are used in traditional weddings in South Asia. It has that very slight day old aged smell when the petals start to wilt slightly which is synonymous with a lot special occasions in South Asia. Slowly the creaminess of the rose starts to come forward , followed by the smokiness for which Turkish rose is well known for . As it evolves on the skin the fragrances dances back and forth between green , cream and smoke. The permeation of sweetness remains throughout the scent which can only be distinctly identified to be that of the rose. An excellent addition to my growing rose collection.
