Turning incense-grade artisanal Sri Lankan agarwood oil into a perfume is a chance few are privileged to
Vibrant. Lively. But with a fat waft of oud to thicken the breeze.
Suriranka was designed with springtime and summer in mind. That’s why you’ll smell hints of citrus that give this tonic its bright profile…… and then realize there’s way more going on.
There are no perfumes composed around the clean aquamarine cool of Sri Lankan agarwood with good reason. Nobody’s got any – that’s one reason. It’s too expensive to use as an ingredient – that’s another.
But more than that is the ability to coax that bluegreen oceanic freshness from the walla patta brew and imbue it into a perfume that’s fit enough to carry its depth and make it project at the same time. Pull that off, and you’ve bottled the most soulful spring spritz ever.
Not just ‘fresh’ but grapefruit squeezed onto pepper; mentholated thyme caressed by sage and jasmine whitened – and brightened – by mimosa. Dyed blue and green with the sandy ocean breeze drifting over the veneer of ambergris, punctuated by a touch of chamomile and caraway seed to lend its fusion of berry-sweet and wildflower calm to this mic that cheers, “Spring has come, bearing loads of oudy floral beach fresh oomph this year!”
But heads-up: Suriranka is not a playful perfume. It’s a regal, ultra-luxurious display of precious aromatics that showcase where ‘fresh’ and ‘formidable’ meet. Where crisp and cool hang out with sinking agar resin in a fragrance that’s sexy blue, sultry green, and oud oud oud pumping out everywhere in between.

We moved to Sri Lanka and lived there for about half a year during the severe floods that hit the country in 2017 just to distill the oud oil that is now inside this perfume.

This somewhat fresh, minty and oceanic profile makes it easier to wear when your country is near the equator, or khatulistiwa. It opens with a little of citrus on top combined with salty aquatic-marine nuances. This breezy vibe does not stop there, there will be a bouquet of noticeable flowers like jasmine, mimosa, lavender and chamomile to enhance the sense of cleanliness and soapy florals, before transforming into a beautiful aromatic profile with a touch of mild green woodiness in the background. What dazzles me was the use of Silani Oud from Sri Lanka that forges and binds these notes together, potraying how majestic a “blue” oud fragrance can be.
Suriranka is a masterful blend of contrasts—where citrus brightness meets the depth of rare Silani oud, creating a fragrance that feels both invigorating and meditative. It opens with a crisp zest, kissed by spices, before melting into a cool, coastal breeze infused with mimosa and chamomile. But just as you settle into its fresh elegance, the tide shifts—ambergris lends an airy sophistication, while cedar, vetiver, and patchouli ground it in undeniable depth. If you have a chance to wear it with Suriranka 2.0 (initial release oil) that an another level story… Topping up experience…
