This oud was initially distilled to be used as medicine, and because of the standards of quality and purity required to comply with the doctors who commissioned it you’ve got a rare specimen of oud so good you literally can’t improve on it.

Its clean blue, medicinal in a good way tone – which smells identical to the finest Nha Trang raw agarwood, except it’s actually louder – makes it one of the most wearable, accessible ouds. A bit ironic since you’d typically want to take a swipe when you’re in the mood to zone into just how accurately it captures the Vietnames kinam profile and let that scent transport you.

Sinensis can take on many forms, often jammy, dry-woody notes similar to crassna, and other times its juicy tangy tones. Here… it’s just one pitch. Kinam. From start to finish.
