“The rose comes first, and it’s super loud, and rich Ta’ifi rose, the oudy rose top paves the way and the Oud Royale 85 comes into the picture. My God do they sit well together. Very elegant and a complete fragrance. Regal is the perfect word. It’s such a simple but regal scent.” – Asad, USA
Melange Privée SQ: Sinking-grade oud oil blended with Ta’ifi rose, distilled and extracted in the early 80s, exclusively for Sultan Qaboos – that’s what makes up a third of what’s in your bottle.
To oudify this semi-bepsoke perfume even more, there’s 1.5gr of Sultani 1975 added to make the compound a full third of the perfume. The rest? The Sultan’s Tibetan musk tinctured into a deep red carrier that works its magic as it permeates the timeless marination of oud and rose – in this case, the finest of each ever distilled or extracted, and to my knowledge the first time they’re blended together, and at a concentration that’ll make any perfume blush.
In the history of perfume, this oud/rose/musk SQ trio must be the most lavish perfume anybody ever owned.

This one is very elegant! Sweet jammy delicious rose, not too juicy or lemony (this rose hits me different than other compositions containing Taifi rose). Very smooth. You can feel that the oud in this one has been aged for quite a while, hence the seamless blend and smoothness you get. I could compare the smoothness to a dewy greenness, so perfectly balanced and round.
It is only oud and rose, but what quality in materials! It is simplistic as in, from its projection you could think of it as a pure rose oil, a dark and elegant rose. Smelled from close you get the top quality oud that has like a combination of the best parts of all great ouds. I get a slight sweet minty coolness from it as well.
Regal but not too ‘Sultan-ish’ loud (musked-up Sultan perfumes come to mind). The name Privee is very fitting, this is to be enjoyed privately, without much distracting lights and loud noises etc.
