This attar is a mission to make! You’d never guess it because, at first whiff, it’s such a straight-shooting aroma…

But it’s exactly because of its such a honed aroma that you need everything that goes into making this scent possible.

To this day, other distillers wonder how we made Aroha Kyaku. How do you get that unique smokey-raw-incense aroma?

Next to Oud Yusuf, Aroha Kyaku is arguably the most praised and asked-after oud of the past decade. There’s something about its deep incense core that oudheads find irresistible.

But the chance to smell such waves of deep incense crashing is something we haven’t yet showcased in attar form.

Aroha Ghalia takes the incense-crazed heart of Aroha Kyaku and decks it out with black pepper, black tea, tobacco, Tonkin khus, cypress and beeswax – and, above all, loads of super fine Maroke oud.

Yet, take a fat swipe and you won’t distinctly smell any of those aromatics as stand-out notes. Nor will you smell the long line-up of other supporting aromatics that help keep that Aroha incense wafting strong. The oud is undeniable – but not quite recognizable. This is the same with Aroha Kyaku – it sooo deep black resinous oudy…… yet, you’ve never smelled oud quite like it.

Aroha Ghalia takes that effect – that Aroha core – and juices it up for a replete attar experience, a scent that has more going on but never veers from that oud-to-the-bone Aroha kernel that defines the profile.

I love this facet of the fragrance. A scent with a soliflor-like simplicity but with heavy mystery wafts teasing you at the same time!

Of course, to make this a proper Ghalia, your bottle includes a fat layer of musk and amber grains which will continue to steep and up Aroha’s noir and add lift, and yes……… an animalic bite – which, as with all the crazy amount of other aromatics in here, you probably won’t pick up distinctly, but all go towards making this a singular signature scent – Aroha – musked-out and smokin’!
