Smell Tonkin musk grains transform vibrant Cambodian oud into a lush, red-resined fragrance, evoking the dense, earthy aroma of saffron reborn in oud; agarwood steeped in the scent of rain-soaked earth exalted with rose, oak, and grapefruit.
This musk-laden saffron incense melds with the liqueur vibrancy of vintage red rose otto to create an intoxicating profile that leaves you torn: is it the oud, is it the rose petals, or is it the musk that makes it so irresistibly sultry?
Well, it’s not quite any of them on their own because Ensar’s Rose’s sensual appeal comes courtesy of an oud-musk infusion (artisanal Cambodian oud and extinct Tokin musk) – steeped in turn with another rose-sandalwood infusion.
To temper the Cambodian oud’s throbbing animalic profile you’ve got an 80s sinking-grade Burmese distillation to inject a noir waft of oud vapor into all the lush rouge which makes the oud facet (and its effect) extra layered.
As the musk-infused Cambodian oud’s herbaceous, truffle-like texture harmonizes with vintage rose otto from 1978, it brings a beautifully balsamic earthy nuance to the fragrance.
If you’re wondering, this is nothing like EO 3 or Enchanted Rose, or any other EO roses. While they share the same caliber aromatics, Ensar’s Rose gives you a new dimension to EO’s rose easthetic.
Imbued into the saffron-oud-rose melange, the rich burgundy aroma of aged red jasmine almost begs to be enhanced by the red-resined depth of Rose 1978’s ruby hues. This is how the red sulfur intertwines with the deep, grape-colored allure of the Sultan’s jasmine, infused with juhi and dipped in a base of our musk-infused, red-tinted sandalwood, distilled with roses. It’s a symphony of red-resined love, dripping with the additional lushness of red champaca and pink lotus, that makes the aroma extra dense and heady.
The finest roses can cost four to five times more than otherwise respectable extracts, and you can probably guess which quality we select for an EO Parfum…
While rose is a versatile note, its effect in a fragrance relies heavily on its type and aromatic depth. If it’s too light, you lose the diffusiveness that brings projection to a scent (ever wondered how Enchanted Rose achieves its sillage?). Too earthy, and the rose overwhelms other florals, clouding any spices.
This composition pairs a stunning Afghani otto with Rose 1978 (no longer sold as a standalone) and lets them loose into the smoky depths of Burmese oud wrapping the florals in sinking resinous incense, while a touch of civet hides a shadowy, animalic allure.
This tapestry of roses working their magic on this impossible take on rose-oud and lets you and those around you bliss out to the most exquisite… everything. From sinking-grade vintage oud to the finest rose and saffron and…

Quite different to SRR and EO3 Rugosa and musk gulab. I don’t think there is a great comparison, it’s different to the ones I have tried. Oud, musk, ambergris and Rose seem to be the prominent notes, and are blended nicely together.
Apparently there is saffron in this, but I can’t tell, I actually have not read the description that well so maybe I missed something. It’s not powdery at all like SRR however still has a vintage kind of quality to it similar to SRR. It’s not Jammy sweet, however the sweetness is there but it’s subtle and fresher.
This has oud and it is prominent, it’s a clean pleasant oud, similar thing with the musk in this fragrance. Some oud / rose heavy fragrances can be unsuitable for hot days but I think this would be far better on a hot day than something like SRR.
It’s a more subtle fragrance than EO3 and SRR.
First of all, I am always amazed at how different all of the various rose/oud combinations can smell. In the beginning of my fragrance journey, I would hear or read rose/oud and think to myself, here we go again…
Now I think to myself, “I wonder how this one will smell?” What type of rose or roses does it contain? What type of oud was used? Ensar’s Rose is in the same league as Enchanted Rose in my opinion.
They are very different perfumes but definitely on the same tier as far as the quality of the ingredients are concerned. This perfume reminds me of smelling a sweet rose that is still attached to the bush.
The smell and longevity are incredible! I’ve been wearing this one all week and I can’t get enough of it!
