Tibetan Musk: Royal K

This semi-bespoke edition kind of assumes you’re familiar with one of the most acclaimed EO’s fragrances – that, or you want to jump straight into the deep end for a beefed-up edition. (If you’re not familiar with how Tibetan Musk was born, find out more here.)

This semi-bespoke builds on that signature scent of fossilized amber ground into a delectable blackcurrant fusion of Hojari frankincense fused with lavender – all spiked with a strong concentration of Tibetan musk grains – and OUDified with the best, and rarest ouds from the same soil that produced Tibet’s ancient musk.

The first is a legendary distillation which shoots a mind-numbing, crystalline shot of Royal Kinam into the composition and dresses the musk with its “insanely satisfying sweeeeeeeet sinesis heart” – that not-so-subtle echo of Vietnamese kinam.

This sparkly kinamic tone smells sublime in union with the exquisite amber-lavender-currant veneer, which adds a layer of resinous depth to a composition that is already “so dense, thick, rich and full throttled – I was stunned.”

Alongside Royal Kynam, one of only two vintage Hong Kong ouds you’re likely to come across, you’ve got the saccharine rouge of old-school Yunnanese oud. But – and I can’t believe I’m saying this about an already-super-rare oud – not just any Yunnanese oud.

The oud itself is already almost a decade aged, and brewing inside of it there’s proper ancient Tonkin musk. This is the first attar made using this precious musk-oud-infusion, which I debut in this semi-bespoke edition to make both the Tibetan musk aroma and theme as authentic as possible using irreplaceably high-grade ouds to do so.
