You cannot catch it. There are no traces of it. I catch no whiffs of purple anywhere, other than in the potions that have been stored from many years ago.
Purple Haze is amnesia for you to enter into a time warp through which you experience the mighty resin of centennial aquilarias the likes of which no longer exist other than in the coffers of a tycoon or a Chinese billionaire or a royal palace, tucked away.
Thick slabs of sticky purple notes stirred into sweet vanilla absolute. Purple SQ sinkers from 40 years ago injected with sensual juhi as shots of narcotic blue lily add its cremé to make the deep purple top notes pop.
The easily overpowering potency of violet leaf is tamed by a tidal wave of our in-house Tonkin musk infusion with Chinese sinensis, which together with cassie flowers shoots savory notes with such zest that the purple splatters around the pheromonal musk to give the perfume the sweetest kinamic bite.
Imagine vintage orris butter marinated in raspberries being battered into oud that’s drenched in and dripping purple. If you love Iris Ghalia, then this purple haze will make your head spin.

This perfume definition of a purple smell.
It opens with hints of osk, grape, oud, berries and turns into a beautiful sweet kinamic scent.
This probably one of the most elegant scents that I’ve smelled so far and I’ll only use it for special occasions.
I’ve read a lot of statements saying that this is just another oud sultani but there’s way more going on in this one. You can smell that there are a few notes that we know from the sultani series but as soon as it has dried down a little bit you will see that this perfume plays in a completely different league.
The florals and the different ouds cove

r you in a cloud of purple aromatics and it’s almost addictive. The musk in this perfume is not very prominent and works more like a booster for the oud and the florals which is perfectly fine.
I’ve only sprayed it a couple times and I’ve received nothing but positive feedback for it.
Usually, I don’t care that much about getting compliments for my scents but the feedback on this perfume was quite exceptional.
A well-deserved placed in the EO hall of fame!
UPDATE:
I remember when Oud Sultani 1975 got released, everyone was shocked by the insanely good smell of it and it didn’t take long until got one of the most legendary scent profiles from EO.
A few months later we got blessed with OS Terrenganu and OS Kelantan. How could it get any better ? Did the Oud Sultani legacy end at this point?
Purple Haze entered the game and showed us the most exclusive version of the Sultani DNA. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not another Sultani with a different oud, it’s way more than that.
Purple florals, kinamic wafts of oud paired with musk, juicy berries and creamy Iris butter

Purple Haze is a scent that makes everyone turn around and ask you: “What is this incredibly good scent?”
UPDATE:
Another one of the special occasions scents is Purple Haze. I remember back in the day when it got released a lot of people mentioned that it’s just another oud Sultani because of the purple berry notes that have been very strong in the beginning.
But the maceration has changed this perfume quite a lot and now you can tell that there might be single nuances that you know from the Sultani series but Purple haze itself is something completely different.
The Purple Kinam that has been used in this perfume is the most prominent component and once you’ve applied a spray you’ll directly notice the strong burst of oud, followed by even more purple notes, musk and a sexy creamy orris butter.
The variety of different ouds gets stronger and stronger with time and the ruh ghulab, berries and lotus melt into that musky pool of oud.
I don’t think that a scent can get anymore purple than this one.

You raise your hand to hail for a small boat along the side of the jungle river. As you get in you notice that this tiny boat has been sealed from leaks with Oud Resin. Your just along for the ride as this small boat is full of highly fragrant purple flowers being shipped downriver to be traded. The boat starts down a portion of the river you have never been down before and it’s a bit of an unusual looking narrow river almost turning into a creek.
There also starts to appear this unusually thick purple mist. As you come into the mist you notice this mist deepening the purple fragrance in the air created by the purple flowers in the boat. Soon everything around you appears to be purple and you feel like you have reached the end of the river and are looking up at a purple mountain oozing out a purple lava flow of rich and dense smelling purple oud resin with purple incense smoke all around you like a cloud and you feel enveloped with fragrant camphoric intensity.
All of a sudden you wake up from this crazy dream in your office to phones ringing and the familiar look of your workplace. But suddenly and strangely you can still smell this heavenly rich purple aroma in the air somehow and you wonder, this had to have been a dream, wasn’t it!?. But just then you take a whiff of the back of your hand and realize it was just the Purple Haze you were breathing in that made you drift into La-La land like Josh.
All jokes aside and never mind the corny story but Purple Haze is all that and a really big bag of Oud Chips. I mean honestly, how good are these sprays going to get. You keep going up these stairs on the EO pyramid thinking it can’t get any higher and you turn the corner and there are more stairs leading upwards. I’m starting to get dizzy going so high up here.

If the hype for JA and OS was real then the hype for Purple Haze is even realer. I’m sure those who were lucky enough to receive a bottle and are fond of JA and OS they may consider this the greatest Ensar Oud perfume to date.

Wow, intense opening blast of chewy purple that filled the room.
This amazing scent takes some of the best parts of Oud Sultani: Terranganu and somehow amplifies the message, filling your nostrils and head with that dizzying purple haze that buzzes and pulsates like electrons or Charlie Parker on the Sax, or I guess yes Hendrix on guitar. Wow. I do see the Jamaican Ambergris comparisons as well.
Opening is so nice, as it settles there is a little light prickle of spicy pepper on top, the slight brush of fir needles.
Blue lotus in the middle, smoothing in with the raspberry jam at play. The earthiness in there that pulls you back from going fully hallucinogenic.
The deep base of gorgeous Oud oud oud with sweet vanilla. Dry down still sparkles.
I regret not buying a bottle of this one and just doing a sample, hope to find one in the wild.
This is happiness, the magic and wizardry of Ensar at full play. Color me impressed.
Longevity is excellent. Projection good on my skin, it’s a tenacious scent accompanying me throughout the day.
For me, contender for Best of 2023.
