It feels like yesterday, but we’re looking back at a full decade since we released the oil that officially kicked off our Organic Oud campaign: Oud Yusha.
Ten years ago, nobody imagined we’d achieve sinking-grade resin in cultivated agarwood. This was a time when harvesting ten-year-old trees (often younger) was the norm – as it still is in most parts. But everyone’s support the past decade has resulted in the first sinking-grade cultivated agarwood. That’s huge!
To celebrate our ten-year Organic Oud journey, we’re making the successor to Oud Yusha available today.
Not only is the new Oud Yusha a stupendous oud, but we’re subsidizing this special release to make owning a bottle easy as pie; to lacquer yourself with a thick spread of fig jam, plums and nectarines, and raw tupelo honey.
A resinous amber undercurrent with a precious woody dry down that makes you tingle. No chemical fertilizers. No pesticides. Just some chicken droppings and rainwater…
We wanted this anniversary edition to encapsulate our organic oud journey of the past decade in terms of the agarwood used and the distillation style. That means that Oud Yusha contains different phases of resin formation we’ve managed to cultivate over the years, from lue to kyen to seah to the first-ever sinking-grade shavings – all in one oud.
In addition to this montage, we’re also adding a portion of an aged organic distillation we’ve kept all these years to the brew. This gives you a fusion of the original organics from the pioneering days of Oud Yusha and Encens d’Angkor with the juicy sinking-grade fruit incense cocktails we’ve been able to capture since.
Whether you’ve been on this journey with us and smelled firsthand how incredible organic oud can be, or if you’ve just discovered the magic of oud oil – you can’t go wrong with Oud Yusha.
It doesn’t matter if this is your first bottle of oud or your fiftieth, Oud Yusha’s smooth fruity-incense-woody fragrance makes it an easy daily wear every bit as much as it showcases what organic oud means to us all.
Enjoy!
