Hainan is techincally a co-distillation of Hainan and Hong Kong kyara skins, collected a long time ago. Hainan Kinam is both the pinnicle of Hainanese oud, and the closest you’d ever get to a Hong Kong kinam extract.
If Pusong LTD is smokey and Kyara LTD is red warm, Hainan Kinam exudes the most vintage aroma. Instead of a kinam palette freshly heated, it-s more like you walk into a kodo gallery where adepts have been heating Kyara for decades. The ambient silage of kinam, bottled.

Aptly named, this oil finds a wonderful middle ground between the ultra vibrant, intense, energizing Hailam Ltd, and the medicinal, grounding, earthy Royal Kinam.
The idea was to create a purely Hainanese rendition of Kyara Ltd with the highest possible grades of wood from Hainan. This oil feels vast, like a wide open field, with open skies over solid ground; both ethereal and grounding.
It opens with vibrant kinamic bitterness, the characteristic blood orange note from Hainan is very present. As it dries it takes on that creamy, milky quality that kinam wood has, similar to some Vietnamese oils. In the dry down you get a wonderful sweet honeyed zesty woody profile.

Shades of Hainan, my favourite region.
Hailam Kilam is stimulating. Buttery spicy liqueur is sweetened by juicy blood orange, dancing excitedly over a powdery zesty woody heart.
Hailam Ltd is vibrant. Supra-kinamic energy radiates in vivid orange and blue. Pure joy!
Hainan Kinam is dignified. Ethereal kinam takes deep roots in the earth. Both serene and profound.
Royal Kinam is medicinal. Ginseng and eucalyptus are tamed by earthy spices, orange zest and creamy florals.
Hainan 2005 is rich. Ancient woods coated in ambergris are brought to life by warm tobacco and juicy blood oranges. Some kinam must have found its way into the pot…
