I’ve never even made an attar like this for myself

Description

Blue lotus. Few names have been so overused—or so misunderstood.

If you’ve sampled as many blue lotus extracts as I have, you know the truth: they’re as unpredictable as oud. Some are breathtaking, others are forgettable, and a few make you question if they were mislabeled entirely.

Sourcing true blue lotus is a quest in itself, which is why I rarely offer it neat. When I do, it’s a treasure. Most of the time, I reserve it for compositions like Blue Kalbar, where it takes center stage. That perfume was crafted around the unparalleled allure of blue lotus, and it became the foundation for what would become Mystical Lotus.

What makes Mystical Lotus so extraordinary? It’s the sheer abundance of blue lotus—double the amount found in Blue Kalbar. This isn’t just a perfume; it’s an immersion.

Blue Kalbar was already a pinnacle of luxury, its creamy blue lily accentuated by over 20 natural ingredients to heighten its narcotic allure. The carnal richness of blue lotus intertwined with frangipani made it unforgettable. Yet, Mystical Lotus takes it even further, layering the kinamic coolness of Brunei LTD over the base.

Brunei LTD, an oud so rare and precious I don’t even sell it neat, brings a sharp, icy elegance to the composition, adding an entirely new dimension to the already opulent blend.

Since Blue Kalbar forms the core, you’ll still experience its familiar elements: the sweet floralcy of orange blossom, the animalic touch of civet, the depth of Green Papua, and the warm embrace of Ambra ’92. But Mystical Lotus doesn’t stop there.

To deepen the experience, I added Royal Ta’ifi rose. Its vibrant, luxurious aroma elevates the ruh gulab already present in Blue Kalbar, amplifying the diffusion of the ouds. This combination recalls the golden era of traditional mukhallats, where the marriage of rose and oud defined elegance.

Then, there’s the pairing of Maroke SQ and Mélange Priveé SQ ouds. Maroke SQ, with its rich, incense-like depth, contrasts beautifully with the bright, juicy facets of Mélange Priveé SQ. Together, they create a balance that’s perfectly poised to complement the icy, sultry brilliance of Brunei LTD. The result? A composition that is both grounded and ethereal, rich with contrasts and harmonies.

But what truly sets Mystical Lotus apart is its density, its richness. Imagine the finest florals—blue lotus, frangipani, rose, and orange blossom—steeped in vintage, sinking-grade ouds from royal treasuries that are now forever sealed. Every drop is a nod to unparalleled craftsmanship, every whiff a reminder of an era of unrestrained luxury.

This is not a casual fragrance. Mystical Lotus is a statement, a scent that transforms the wearer into a vision of sophistication and style. It’s the kind of perfume you pair with a bespoke blue crocodile leather suitcase or an exquisitely tailored snakeskin jacket.

Featured Testimonials…

One dab on the back of the hand spread thinly on the back of both hands Opening lotus that’s the first thing that hits you for sure. With a slightly sour citrus note that I associate with rosé taifi.

I’m amazed how the rose manages to hold up under that loading of blue lotus yet it’s clearly there as a supporting partner of the lotus. Can’t smell any Oud at this point. Mainly flowers. Like a rose and lotus garden growing side by side.. very rich very decadent. Considering how little I applied very defusive That and I had some durian for breakfast, should really have a dab when I’m not engaging in such hardcore fruit. Laughs Smell some slight Animalics, backing the scent, ambre? Smells slightly musky to me..

Just realized I din mention creamy and yes you can find that here.. Makes me wished I ballroom danced so that my partner would sniff this while her heads next to my neck laughs Smooth silky and elegant the main cord is still blue lotus. The beauty and issue about Oud is similar, as some forms smell so distinct and unique from each other unless you know what your looking for they can get hide beneath other scents.. to be honest with ML I can only detect the blue lotus, rose and frangipani also perhaps ambre, the Brunei kinam and vintage maroke I’m sure are there but I can’t Separate the smells at all.

I guess that’s a side effect when you have a well-blended perfume. Lovely without question but what’s what will likely remain a mystery to me. Will do a side by side with blue kabar later this evening. But that’s all for this one unless the smell changes in the next few hours.
